In 1844 Dr Christopher Penfold set up in practice at Magill, South Australia. By the early 1900’s Penfolds was among the leading fortified producers in Australia. Penfolds Father Grand Tawny is a tribute to 169 years of winemaking excellence. A blend of many outstanding tawny components separately matured in seasoned old oak casks, resulting in a minimum blended average age of ten years. The combination of extended cask maturation and Penfolds extensive experience in crafting fine Tawny wines, have resulted in a wine with concentration, vitality, exceptional balance of fruit, nutty oak age complexity and distinctive spirit. All of these elements culminate in a balanced, clean and lingering tight finish.
