Located on the Isle of Islay in the Scottish Hebrides, the Ardbeg Distillery has stood for over 200 years recently celebrating their bicentenary in 2015. The distillery was completely shutdown between 1981 to 1989 before operated in a limited capacity prior to being purchase by Glenmorangie in 1997 and subsequently coming under the control of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy in 2004. An upgrade to the distillery completed in early 2021 saw a brand new still house and a new set of stills doubling the distilleries production capacity to 2,400,000 litres per annum.
